Have you recently bought new windscreen fluid? Then pay attention to which brand it is. It could just be ‘toxic’ window fluid, which supplier Newco Europe and the NVWA are now warning about.
Newco Europe warns for the use of windshield washer fluid from the brands All Ride, Avia, Fishland and Haan. Windscreen fluid from these brands has been in circulation for several months with an excessively high content of methanol. Also the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) warns against using this windshield washer fluid as it can be toxic if ingested and “may pose a serious health risk.”
Not all products of the mentioned brands pose a safety risk. According to Newco Europe and NVWA, these products are:

- Batch number starts with the letters ‘SFS’
- Sold at gas stations between September 26, 2022 and January 24, 2023

So check carefully whether you still have one of these products at home or have already thrown it into the windshield fluid reservoir. The filling stations where the products were purchased take back – including opened packages – and refund the purchase amount.
