S6 etron or RS6 etron?

Audi will launch a fully electric alternative to the A6 in 2024. That model will be called Audi A6 e-tron and, entirely in accordance with Audi tradition, there will also be some extra potent versions. We may already see the first evidence of this in these photos. This could just be the electric ‘S6 e-tron’ or even the ‘RS6 e-tron’!
It has been more than two years since Audi gave a concrete preview of an electric equivalent of the A6 with the A6 e-tron Concept. The Audi A6 e-tron will not only be available as a sedan, but also as an Avant. At the introduction of the A6 e-tron Concept, Audi already hinted to AutoWeek that it is playing with the idea of also developing an electric RS version of the A6 e-tron. On these spy plates we see the first images of a sportier variant of the Audi A6 e-tron, but whether it actually concerns the RS version is not yet entirely clear.

True to tradition, Audi first introduces a sporty intermediate size of a new model. That would mean that the A6 e-tron will first get a potent ‘S6 e-tron’ variant and that the RS version will follow later. The bumper work on this packed test sample may not look intense enough for an RS version, but that does not have to mean much. After all, the RS e-tron GT does not look much more exuberant than the non-RS versions of that electric Taycan competitor. The apparently slightly wider front and rear screens of this snapped prototype, together with the brakes with red claws visible behind the wheels, indicate that this is not just an A6 e-tron.
The Audi A6 e-tron Concept was presented with a 476 hp powertrain and a 100 kWh battery pack. The basic version of the A6 e-tron should also be able to reach a speed of 100 km / h in 7 seconds from a standstill. With 476 hp, the model is undoubtedly a lot faster. A possible RS version could just have 600 electric horsepower. For the time being, it remains speculation, but it seems certain that there are indeed sporty flavors of the A6 e-tron in the barrel. With the A6 e-tron, Audi is targeting cars such as the Mercedes-Benz EQE and the yet-to-be-revealed BMW i5. The BMW i5 comes as a sporty M60i xDrive, among other things, the EQE is available in the sporty flavors 43 AMG and 53 AMG.
