Audi increases range of ‘old’ E-trons

Audi E-tron 50 Quattro

Audi is implementing a software update on the E-tron that increases the electric range of that SUV. Please note, this only concerns Audi’s E-tron 55 Quattro of model years 2019 and 2020.

Simultaneously with the introduction of the E-tron Sportback, Audi gave its electric SUVs a software update that improved the electric range. Copies of the Audi E-tron that were produced and delivered before that, had to do without that larger range for the time being. Good news: this software adaptation is now also available for Audi’s E-tron produced between September 2018 (model year 2019) and November 2019 (model year 2020). Costs? Nothing.

The software update increases the range of the Audi E-tron by 20 kilometers. This gives the Audi E-tron 55 Quattro a new WLTP range of 441 kilometers. The software update increases the net capacity of the gross 95 kWh battery pack to 86 kWh. In addition, software update also brings changes to the control unit of the front electric motor. At low load, the front electric motor switches off almost completely.

The E-tron 55 Quattro is the 360 hp version of Audi’s electric SUV that is above the 313 hp version with 71 kWh battery.
