The Audi Q6 E-tron will be a new electric SUV that will also have a Sportback brother with a more steeply sloping roofline. AutoWeek recently showed you the Audi Q6 E-tron Sportback in a test suit for the first time, although the back of the new model remained out of the picture for a while. Until now!

With study models A6 E-tron and A6 E-tron Avant, Audi looked ahead at electrical equivalents of the A6 and A6 Avant, respectively. These two fully electric newcomers will be placed on the PPE platform, a basis developed jointly by Audi and Porsche that will make its debut at Audi not under one of those two electric A6s, but under the Q6 E-tron. The Q6 E-tron will be an electric SUV that is a step above the Q4 E-tron, but below the possible Q8 E-tron to be renamed E-Tron and E-Tron Sportback. Just like its bigger and smaller brothers, the Q6 E-tron will also come in a Sportback variant. It’s that Sportback version that shows up on these spy records better than before.

Not long ago we could already show you the Q6 E-tron Sportback, although the plates were then limited to the front and side of the new electric SUV. For this new set of photos, the Q6 E-tron Sportback has gotten over its stage fright. As expected, the Q6 E-tron Sportback will have a more steeply sloping roofline than the regular Q6 E-tron, yet to be revealed. The rear lights look remarkably familiar. In these photos they are still separated from each other, but it seems that under the sticker work hides an LED bar that eliminates a lonely existence for the light units. The placement of the rear spoiler is striking. It is located directly under the rear window. Slightly different from the Q4 E-tron Sportback and E-tron Sportback.

According to the original plans, Audi would unveil the Q6 E-tron this year, although problems with software development could just throw a spanner in the works. The sister model of the Q6 E-tron that Porsche will carry, the electric Macan, may also be on the market later than planned. The Q6 E-trons will not be the replacements for the Q5 and Q5 Sportback, those cars will be helped once more to a new generation with combustion engines.
