AVM Fritz! products with Wi-Fi 7 for tri-band Mesh, 5G and smart home

At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, ​​AVM is presenting a series of new Fritz! products for the following themes: fiber optic and DSL in one Fritz!Box, 10 gigabit/s with fiber optic, fast internet at home with 5G, Wi-Fi 7 with triband mesh at 6 GHz. In addition, AVM introduces a versatile Smart Home with the DECT ULE and Zigbee standards, and the new Matter standard. From February 27 to March 2, AVM will be showing these brand new Fritz! products at booth 7E35, which I will also get to see.

Fritz!Box 5690 Pro for fiber optics and DSL
With the new Fritz!Box 5690 Pro, AVM combines fiber optic and DSL in one device for the first time. This combination enables fast internet access with an eye to the future and offers flexibility for regions where fiber has yet to be rolled out. In addition, the new Fritz!Box 5690 Pro offers powerful tri-band Mesh including 6 GHz, the new third WiFi frequency band. The new Fritz!Box 5690 Pro supports both the current Wi-Fi 6 wireless standard and Wi-Fi 7, the next generation of Wi-Fi, with improvements in latency, speed and throughput. This combination will also enable powerful wireless communication in the future for real-time applications such as cloud computing, virtual reality, gaming, etc. The Fritz!Box 5690 Pro in a new, upright design offers another important advantage for smart home applications: in addition to DECT ULE, it also has the Zigbee wireless standard on board and is prepared for the Matter standard for more smart applications in the home.

Fritz!Box 5690 XGS for fiber optic networks
With the Fritz!Box 5690 XGS, AVM presents a very fast Fritz!Box for fiber optic that achieves speeds of up to 10 gigabits/s in fiber optic networks with the XGS-PON standard. With powerful Wi-Fi 7 and Wi-Fi 6, a 10 gigabit WAN/LAN port and the full range of telephony, smart home and network functions known from Fritz!Box, the device acts as the fiber access point for all digital applications at home . In addition to DECT ULE, it also supports Zigbee and is Matter compatible.

Fritz!Box 6860 5G for mobile networks
The new Fritz!Box 6860 5G enables fast internet and streaming at home via 5G mobile networks. This Fritz!Box supports both 5G (NSA, SA) and LTE and achieves data speeds of up to 1.3 gigabit/s. Equipped with strong Mesh Wi-Fi according to the Wi-Fi 6 standard, it can also stream data wirelessly throughout the house. Thanks to the new small housing and the power connection via Power over Ethernet, the Fritz!Box 6860 5G is flexible and easy to place anywhere in the house on the wall or by the window. In addition, it offers practical aids for optimal alignment and the complete Fritz! convenience for the home network.

Zigbee wireless technology
AVM expands Fritz! Smart Home with Zigbee wireless technology. In addition to DECT ULE, devices with Zigbee can now also be connected directly via the Fritz!Box. The first products to support both Zigbee and DECT are the Fritz!Box 5690 Pro, the Fritz!Box 5690 XGS and the new Fritz!Smart Gateway. This plug-in gateway combines DECT and Zigbee in one device. Particularly for lighting control, Fritz! Smart home new applications. The Zigbee LED lamps from other manufacturers that users already own can easily be plugged into the Fritz! Smart Home are integrated. Existing Fritz!Box models are also suitable for Zigbee via the Smart Gateway.
