Back to basics: Jaguar F-Pace

Jaguar has been working hard on its SUV range in recent years. The F-Pace is currently the largest and oldest SUV from the showroom. A facelift for the Brit is therefore already lurking, but before this happens, it is time to strip the current version to its bare-bones outfit.

Jaguar F-Pace E-Performance Ingenium 2.0 Pure€ 65,050

Due to the Dutch CO2 tax, the cheapest Jaguar F-Pace in the Netherlands is a diesel. The 2.0 liter E-Performance turbo diesel with 163 hp to be precise. For just over € 65,000, this manual Jag is on the doorstep. Boarding with a petrol engine is possible from € 77,500. The buyer gets considerably more power at the fuel change, because the 2.0-liter petrol engine is good for 250 hp. In any case, the “Pure” functions as an entry-level version.

For the exterior, Jaguar has two free colors available: Fuji White and Narvik Black. With a regular metallic paint, the base price increases by € 1,001, but that can rise to € 12,036 for the SVO Special Effect Satin paint. In terms of lighting, the Pure is a bit disappointing, because it is the only one that gets halogen headlights with daytime running lights and must also miss (LED) fog lamps at the front. The taillights do get led in. Adaptive LED headlights optionally cost € 1,452.

For the rest, a “bare” F-Pace is not very noticeable, because as with the two subsequent trim levels, the Pure gets a “Satin Black” colored grille and a chromed frame of the side windows. Furthermore, other details such as the rear bumper, power vents on the front fenders and a spoiler on the first three trim levels are finished in the same way. 18-inch 15-spoke alloy wheels fill the wheel arches. If you don’t like this, you can choose from many other wheels. The additional cost can therefore amount to thousands of euros. Parking sensors and a reversing camera are also standard.

Inside, “normal front seats” with premium black cloth upholstery await the driver. The front seats can be adjusted manually in eight different ways. Electric adjustment of the seats costs between € 498 (10-fold) and € 1,981 (20-fold). Heated front seats cost an additional € 409. The steering wheel is finished with leather as standard and is furthermore full of buttons for operating the audio or the standard cruise control. For an extra luxurious wooden finish of the interior, there is a choice of five types for € 377 each. A carbon fiber finish has an additional cost of € 1,143. Setting the climate over two different zones can be done in every F-Pace, if you prefer to do that over four zones, you must bring € 1,803 more to the dealer.

Furthermore, Jaguar only processes one digital screen in the dashboard for the bare-bones F-Pace, because there is no other screen besides the 10-inch touchscreen. An analog instrument cluster is therefore supplied as standard. The digital variant costs € 726. Besides regular FM radio and aux / bluetooth connections, little can be done with the multimedia system. App connection of the smartphone or a built-in navigation has an extra charge in either case or is part of a larger package. Speaking of those packages: the extensive price list contains pages full of packages to dress up the F-Pace a bit thicker. Facilities that are now missed, such as automatically folding side mirrors, a (hands-free) electrically operated tailgate or DAB + radio, can still be ticked.
