Bell, the helmet manufacturer from the United States, has added a new jet helmet to its range: the TX501. Connoisseurs already know that it is the successor to the TX500, the jet helmet that could well be in the Guinness Book of Records as the helmet with the longest production run.

The TX500 was launched on the American market in 1954 and is still presented as the first motorcycle helmet. The helmet was frequently depicted by actor and legend Steve McQueen and has therefore become an icon in the US. The helmet has survived the past 7(!) decades and remains a must-have for vintage motorcycle enthusiasts and enthusiasts. That is, if Bell is to be believed.
Now, since that first TX500, time has not stood still and the world has become a lot busier. And so it was time for a new concept, which, according to Bell, was developed with the same determination as its predecessor, the helmet that, according to Bell, has served as an example of most contemporary open-face helmets.
The TX501 has the same sleek design that conveys the original spirit of Bell, but with contemporary modern technology underneath. Starting with the fiberglass outer shell, which has a subtle aerodynamic shape. At the back there is a spoiler with a camouflaged air outlet for extra cooling and comfort during daily use or long trips in the middle of summer. But there’s more.
The classic-looking artificial leather interior has a double-density inner shell with space for speakers. The chin strap consists of a ratchet closure and a visor is integrated into the shell for eye protection in an instant.
To make the TX501 suitable for use in both high summer conditions and night work, Bell supplies it with a clear and tinted visor as standard. For an exclusive, personal touch, the helmet is offered in various solid colors and a black and white version, all in keeping with Bell’s cherished retro look.
The TX501 is available in sizes XS – XXL, using no fewer than 4 inner shell sizes. Available in the colors matte black, black, vintage white, gray, candy red, mint green, black and white, for a suggested retail price from € 324.95.
