Benelli TRK 800: temperamental middle class Allroad

It is gradually becoming pleasantly busy in the middle class of the Dual Purpose segment. The latest newcomer in this class is the Benelli TRK 800, designed according to the Italians to be able to undertake any type of journey and to guarantee maximum comfort and fun, both on and off the road.

Benelli TRK 800: temperamental middle class Allroad

Born in the Benelli Style Center, developed by the R&D department of the House of the Leoncino in Pesaro, where the company headquarters and heart are located, and produced at parent company Qjian Jiang in the Chinese industrial city of Wenling. The TRK 800 also marks the 110th anniversary of Benelli, the beginning of a new chapter in the history of the Italian brand.

The design of the TRK 800 is described by Benelli as an evolution of the TRK 502 X, which they say is the best-selling model of the moment. The beating heart is the 754cc two-cylinder that we already know from the Leoncino 800, good for 76.2 hp power at 8500 rpm and a torque of 67 Nm at 6500 rpm.

The parallel twin has double overhead camshafts with 4 valves per cylinder and a double throttle body with a diameter of 43 mm. According to the Italians, it is also worth mentioning that the six-speed gearbox is equipped with a slip-assist clutch, of which this is an acte.

The chassis consists of a half-timbered tubular frame designed according to Benelli to give you maximum maneuverability and comfort in all conditions without ever getting tiring, even on long rides. At the front is a hefty Marzocchi 50mm upside-down fork with 170mm of travel, which is fully adjustable.

The rear central monoshock is also adjustable, albeit only for spring preload and rebound damping. The shock has 53mm of travel, which translates to a hefty 171mm of travel at the rear wheel.

The bike’s ergonomics have been carefully thought out down to the last detail, according to Benelli, to easily accommodate both rider and passenger, even with side and top cases, which must have provided a comfortable, intuitive riding position.

Benelli says it has paid great attention to aerodynamic protection thanks to a large adjustable windshield, handguards and deflectors, which should provide perfect protection for both rider and passenger. Maximum attention has also been paid to comfort thanks to a slim, roomy saddle and sturdy handles for the duo and the standard centerstand.

Benelli has equipped the TRK 800 with a spacious 21 liter tank, which means that you should be able to cover long distances before your Shell&Co. sponsor again. From the saddle you have a view of a 7″ TFT color display that according to Benelli should be user-friendly and intuitive.

The performance of the Brembo braking system is guaranteed by the twin 320mm diameter semi-floating disc at the front and a four-piston caliper and a 260mm diameter disc at the rear with a single-piston caliper. The 19-inch front and 17-inch rear aluminum rims are suitable for 110/80-19 and 150/70-17 tires respectively.

The Benelli TRK 800 will be available at all Benelli dealers from the second half of 2022. The price has yet to be determined.
