“Bentley’s first electric car to arrive in 2025”

Where many brands have already made themselves heard electrically, it remains a bit quiet in the higher segment. British Autocar spoke to Bentley’s CEO and learned more about the premium EV’s first EV.

The range remains an important point in the development of EVs. Due to the high carriage of SUV, batteries can easily be placed in the ground, but such a carriage is not really aerodynamic. Bentley’s CEO, Adrian Hallmark, explains that his brand may have a solution. According to Autocar, Bentley is working on a traditional sedan that will be slightly higher on its legs than regular sedans. However, it does not get as high as a full-fledged SUV. In this way, enough batteries can still be mounted in the bottom and the carriage remains (reasonably) streamlined.

The Bentley CEO tells Autocar that Bentley will take until 2025 to come up with an EV. Hallmark: “By then, the technology is one step further, allowing us to offer our customers what they want: driving five hours straight at an average speed of 65 mph (105 km / h).” The EXP 100 GT concept, presented last year, heralds such a drivetrain. This concept also shows which sustainable materials Bentley wants to work with in the future.
