The Chinese brand Besturn has released the first photos of the new B70. At its generation change, the car shakes off its Mazda genes.
Besturn is one of the brands of the Chinese manufacturer First Auto Works (FAW). The brand has pushed forward a third generation of its B70. Besturn is now showing a first series of exterior photos of that liftback. In the design of the headlights, we observe design influences from cars such as the CT5 and CT6 from Cadillac. In addition, the youngest B70 has a striking bend in his shoulder line and recessed door handles in the doors. Official footage of the rear and interior is not yet available.
Although extensive technical specifications have not yet been released, it is known that the brand new B70 is on a completely new basis from parent company FAW: the FMA platform. That is quite striking. The first generation B70 presented in 2006 was technically based entirely on the first generation of the Mazda 6 (photos 7 and 8). That car, designed by design house Italdesign, was facelifted in 2012 (photos 9 and 10) and had to keep it out until 2014 in that capacity.

2014 was also the year in which Besturn presented the second generation B70, this time signed by Giorgetto Giugiaro, to the Chinese car market (photo 11). That car was also a Mazda 6 under the skin, but this time the Chinese car manufacturer was allowed to use the platform and the engines of the second generation of the Japanese middle class.

The new B70 will enter the Chinese car market this year and will also go on sale in Russia, among others. The car is not coming to the Netherlands.
