Bimota will be presenting two new models at EICMA in Milan next week: the already announced KB4 and a “Vintage Inspired” caferacer variant: the KB4RC, where the last two letters stand for RaceCafe.
“No other manufacturer has a motorcycle like KB4 and KB4RC,” said Pierluigi Marconi, Bimota’s general manager. “No one has so much fun and function in one package. The KB4 and KB4RC are eye-catching features that will act as a halo for Bimota by drawing further consumer attention to our impressive models.”
Marconi noted that KB4 is Bimota’s second major product announcement in the past 20 months. Both groundbreaking models that combine Bimota’s heritage with modern functionality and flair. KB4RC is now completing the Bimota model range for 2022.
Earlier in November 2019, Bimota announced TesiH2, a bike that the Italians said was a unique appearance. Part sport-exclusive and part hyper-sport motorcycle, TesiH2 should be seen as the latest evolution of an innovative bicycle part that originated in 1982.
TesiH2 can actually be seen in Bimota’s shop in shop since September 2020. The production of Bimota KB4 & KB4RC “Vintage Inspired” should be unique according to Bimota by combining the classic design of the iconic Bimota motorcycles of the 1970s with the function and practicality of a modern bicycle.
In the spirit of Bimota, KB4 & KB4RC will be contemporary thoroughbreds, 142hp inline 4 powered, best-handling street machine with an innovative high-pressure cooling
system. The one-piece radiator is neatly stowed diagonally between the seat and the rear wheel. Indeed, just as they have done in the past.
“KB4 and KB4RC, they both look sleek and fast, as does the process by which they are made,” says Bimota designer Enrico Borghesan. “It went from the first sketch to a full size model in a few months using computer aided design and without missing any of the passion that has made so many Bimota products so much fun to ride and show off. cycle because you have to, but you ride this Bimota because you want to.”
The strong tub shapes are part of Bimota’s rich heritage, but are executed in a very contemporary way. Other design features of the KB4 include the full-width windshield and the prominent Bimota logo currently featured on other Bimotas.
With the KB4RC, Bimota enthusiasts should be able to fully enjoy the wind in their face, just like in the glorious past of the cafe racers. Five-spoke forged alloy sports wheels and sporty tires (Pirelli SportEvo) should complement the Vintage Inspired KB4 & KB4RC look.
“KB4 & KB4RC will appeal to enthusiasts of all ages because the design draws you in and the performance keeps you there,” Borghesan said. “The Bimota Vintage Inspired has the soul for spirited, functional motorcycles. KB4 and KB4 RC take the best of both worlds to the extreme, two spirited Italian icons with a functional engine and electronic package.”
The more practical side of the Bimota KB4 & KB4RC includes a comfortable genuine leather saddle. All electronic controls are optimized for all conditions in which the KB4 & KB4RC will operate.
“We have been overwhelmed by the positive response from the public and dealers to the KB4 concept,” said Marconi. “The collective response from motorcycle enthusiasts around the world has exceeded our wildest expectations. Bimota will fan the flames of that excitement as our production KB4 & KB4RC will not be watered down; they will be strikingly similar to the concept KB4 played to get excited about reviews.”
The production version of Bimota KB4 & KB4RC, based on a real Kawasaki platform, will hide behind a dashboard mounted on a carbon fiber structure, all driving data controls and Kawasaki’s electronic devices.
“Cyclists ages 6 to 80 will turn their heads when KB4 & KB4RC come down their street,” said Marconi, “just as they did with the ’78 KB1, the ’81 KB2, and the ’83 KB3. The KB4 & KB4RC are a reminder of the fun part of Bimota’s proud history. Dripping with Bimota heritage, the KB4 and KB4RC are destined to become the next heartbreaking Bimota Vintage Inspired.
