BMW 4 Series Convertible explores the ‘Ring

But little is as good as enjoying the sun, especially when you can do it behind the wheel of your car. BMW has a brand new 4 Series Convertible in the development chambers, a sun worshiper caught on the Nürburgring during test rounds.

The new generation 3 series is no longer a stranger on the Dutch road and so it is time for a new 4-series Coupé and a new 4-series Convertible. It is now clear that that 4-series pair, together with the upcoming 4-series Gran Coupé, is getting a distinct muzzle that does not make everyone happy. In any case, BMW has in store for those interested in the new 4-series Convertible a good thing: the homeless 4-series just gets a fabric hood!

No complicated and especially heavy roof construction for the new open 4-series, but just a fabric hood like BMW that in this segment last applied to the 3-series Convertible (E36). Expect an extensive mix of petrol and diesel engines, including a mighty 3.0-liter six-cylinder that will provide the M4 variant with around 450 to 480 horsepower. Lower on the list will of course be more modest petrol engines and BMW will undoubtedly put a number of diesel blocks on the order lists. We expect a disclosure later this year. The 4-series Coupé will also show its face this year.
