The brand new BMW M5 is on the way and for the first time in generations there will also be a Touring version. Here we see both the M5 Touring and the M5 Sedan.
For the first time since the BMW 5-series E60, there will soon be a BMW M5 Touring. BMW already wrapped it under a Christmas tree at the end of last year, but we have to be patient before the present can be unwrapped. Now we see the new M5 Touring speeding past the Nürburgring-Nordschleife in a different package, namely one from BMW’s camouflage department. So the unveiling will have to wait a while.
The M5 Touring is not alone, the new M5 Sedan is also present during the testing in the Green Hell. They both emit the roar of a V8, but that is not the only power source. After all, the new BMW M5 will be a plug-in hybrid. The M5 will probably get the drivetrain of the BMW XM. A 4.4-liter V8 together with an electric motor delivers up to 748 hp. Will the M5 also be as strong? We’ll know soon.
