BMW puts the brand new M5 Touring under the Christmas tree. Or rather, next to it. Unfortunately, it is still wrapped and that doesn’t seem to be changing for Christmas.

Christmas is just around the corner and according to BMW, Santa Claus is also quite busy with a special gift for BMW M enthusiasts. We will see this in a short video. This is of course the BMW M5 Touring. For the first time since 2007, there will be a rock-solid top version of the most spacious 5-series. Last summer the M5 Touring showed up on the Nordschleife in a camouflage suit, but now it has some more cheerful stickers on it.

In any case, BMW (or Santa Claus) has used the wrapping paper wisely, because this M5 Touring is wrapped in much the same way as the test copy that appeared at the Nürburgring. Unfortunately, we don’t really get to see any more details yet, although we can now take a look at the wheels that may be included in the top 5 series. We also see that the M5 Touring distinguishes itself from the less fortunate 5-series Tourings at the rear with a roof spoiler, thick bumper and four unmissable exhaust tips.

You might think that the BMW M5 Touring can be unpacked at Christmas so that we can experience the unveiling, but the planning is a bit different. In October it was announced that the brand new BMW 5-series Touring will not be presented until next spring. The M5 Touring is of course not ahead of this and may even be unveiled later. In any case, count on a true spectacle with the M5 Touring, with possibly even more than 700 hp combined power. Huh, combined power? Yes, the M5 Touring will be a plug-in hybrid and will no longer get its power solely from a fuel engine.
