Just refresh your memory, in case you already forgot. Last October, MV Agusta announced the Limited Edition Superveloce AGO, an ultra-exclusive version of the hand-built retro sports bike in honor of the racing successes of ‘AGO’, aka Giacomo Agostini. The engine was distinguished by the use of carbon fibre, special paintwork and the coveted number 1 on the fairing.

The Superveloce AGO now up for auction on June 24 at the Bonhams Goodwood Festival of Speed Sale is the No. 1 in the range of 311 bikes, a total that reflects the number of races the Italian has won during his 17-year racing career.

The first 15 bikes in the series are dedicated to each of its 15 world titles – a record that still stands in the sport – with this AGO representing its first win in 1966. Each of the 15 features an exclusive carbon fiber plate on the fuel tank commemorating the relevant trophy and the year it was won by Ago, as well as the champion’s signature.

By the way, whoever makes the winning bid gets more than just the #1 Superveloce AGO. Included in the ticket is an MV Agusta Experience, which includes a visit to Bergamo for dinner with Ago, a tour of his private museum and a photo shoot with the racing legend. MV expects the engine to fetch between £70,000 and £100,000 (around €81,500 and €115,000 at the current price), with ‘No Reserve’
