Buick renews Chinese models

Buick has presented a series of renewed models in China in one fell swoop. One of the newcomers is a model that we also know here, but slightly different.

Even before Opel presented the facelifted Insignia in Europe, the first footage of the renewed Regal appeared in China. The European Insignia and the Chinese Regal are virtually identical in appearance, except for one important difference. Where the Insignia Grand Sport as we know it is a liftback, the Chinese Regal has a sedan butt. It is that Chinese Regal that Buick has now presented a sporty GS version of.

The GS is all-round with sporty shaped bumper and spoiler work that seems to correspond to the extras with which Opel in Europe dresses the GSi version of the Insignia. The renewed Insignia GSi gets in our part of the world a 230 hp and 350 Nm strong blown four-cylinder, the Chinese Regal GSi with a 237 hp and 350 Nm strong variant of the same 2.0 slightly more powerful. The two family members also sprint to a speed of 100 km / h in 7.2 seconds.

The Regal isn’t the only Chinese Buick to feature a GS version. The smaller Verano, which was presented in September last year, has also been lifted onto the podium in a sporty trim. The Vereano is a model that relies heavily on technology from the current generation Opel Astra. Until now, the Verano has always been delivered as a sedan and as a hatchback, but Buick has so far only presented a GS taste of the sedan version. Under the hood of the Verano GS a 165 hp and 240 Nm strong blown 1.3 that is linked to a CVT automatic. The sporty dressed Buick is on 17-inch alloy and is decorated all around with black accents.

More Chinese Buick news comes in the form of an especially motor-driven Excelle GT, a sedan that is slightly above the regular Excelle renewed last year. The 4.59-meter sedan is now available with a 1.3-liter blown four-cylinder equipped with mild-hybrid technology. Buick reports an average consumption of 5.3 l / 100 km. The last modified sedan is the LaCrosse, a car that is almost identical to its American brother of the same name. At least, to date. The LaCrosse benefits from a facelift with which the muzzle is more in line with that of the renewed Regal (Insignia). A lavish Avenir version of the LaCrosse is also available.

For the time being, we have to do with this somewhat brief information about the renewed Chinese models.
