Burglaries, vandalism. Your car has the greatest risk of damage in these provinces

If you live in Utrecht and have a car, get out of here! In the province, the chance that your car will be damaged by a collision, burglary or vandalism is 30 percent greater than in the rest of the Netherlands. It is very bad in the city of Utrecht. It is by far the most dangerous municipality for your car.

Burglaries, vandalism. Your car has the greatest risk of damage in these provinces

In the municipality of Utrecht, the risk of car damage is no less than 80.9 percent higher than the national average. Other places where things go wrong are Zandvoort (+66.1 percent), Ouder-Amstel (+63 percent), Eindhoven (+62.2 percent) and Bunnik and Stichtse Vecht (+56.5 percent).

In Zeeland you hardly run the risk of car damage

Borsele in Zeeland is particularly safe, with a risk of car damage that is 73.8 percent lower than in the rest of the country. Zeeland is a good place to live in any case, because your car is also safe in Veere (-70.5 percent) and Tholen (-70.0 percent).

Not only the city of Utrecht is unsafe, so is the province

If we look at the provinces, Utrecht again comes out poorly, with a risk of car damage that is 30 percent above the national average. Research by Independer, based on data from Statistics Netherlands, Rijkswaterstaat and the Police, shows that Brabant (+17.6 percent) and Noord-Holland (+15.1 percent) are also not doing well. Zeeland (-25 percent) is the safest.

The most vandals are by far in South Holland

It is also striking that the province of South Holland scores extremely poorly when it comes to vandalism. If you park your car there, the chances are relatively high that you will come back and find scratches on your beautiful, shiny sheet metal. In 2020, 7900 cases of car vandalism were registered. A quarter of all reports in the Netherlands.
