Hybrid pickup

BYD is going into battle with the Toyota’s Hilux and Ford’s F-150 of this world with the BYD Shark. The full reveal will be next week, but the Shark is already making an appearance.
In many countries you cannot really participate as a car manufacturer without a pick-up. BYD also understands this and that is why it will soon launch the BYD Shark, a pick-up that has to prove itself among big names such as the Ford F-150 and Toyota Hilux. He does this with an appearance that is mainly reminiscent of the first of the two. It is not a copy, BYD has given it its own twist.
Nice, guys, but you’re kind of in the way.
This also applies to the drivetrain. The BYD Shark has a hybrid drivetrain, in which a combustion engine supplies power to two electric motors, one per axle. Electric drive, but not a fully electric car. We already know this technology from the YangWang U8. The battery can simply be charged with a charging cable. The full unveiling of the BYD Shark will take place on May 14. It remains to be seen whether the brand will market it in Europe.
