Cadillac wants three more EVs in 2024

Cadillac has already made a good start in the EV field with the Lyric and the Celestiq, but more electric Cadillacs are on the way. Initially, it would concern three pieces, which should appear in 2024.

Cadillac, the premium brand within the ranks of General Motors, does not want to be involved in the production of large, heavy gasoline SUVs for all eternity. It is precisely this paragon of American excess that wants to focus exclusively on electric cars early on. Two years ago that was a somewhat strange claim for a brand that did not yet have a single EV in its range, but that is different now. The Cadillac Lyriq is already being delivered in the US and has good credentials for success as a fairly large crossover, while Cadillac now also has an EQS-like super-limousine with the impressive Celestiq.

We can expect more electric Cadillacs in the near future, says Automotive News. Cadillac vice president Rory Harvey is said to have said that three new electric Cadillacs will go into production as early as 2024, next year. He does not go into detail about these cars, but according to Autonews.com, an electric version of the huge Escalade may just be included. That is less illogical than it may sound, because with the fully electric Chevrolet Silverado and the electric Hummer, General Motors has already shown that it believes in electrifying the true mastodons of the car world. With three additional EVs, Cadillac will soon have an electric range of five models in total, not bad for a manufacturer that only delivered its first electric model last year.

While this news is primarily of interest to North America, a larger-scale restart in Europe is not out of the question for Cadillac. An electric line-up can only help with that.
