Coachbuilder Sayers & Scovill has a very special project in the development chambers. The company comes with the Cadillac XT6 Presidential Limousine, a very long Cadillac with a very remarkable rear.
Sayers & Scovill is an American company that has been building hearses and funeral cars since 1876. That may not be the most pleasant corner of the car country, but it is an interesting one. Sayers & Scovill turns one Cadillac after another into a hearse, but this Cadillac XT6 Presidental Limousine has become something completely different. No, we are not dealing with the new ‘Beast’ here.
The Cadillac XT6 Presidential Limousine, of which Sayers & Scovill released the first footage on its Facebook page, is already a bizarre thing to see with its apparently enormous dimensions from the front. Like the most recent products from Sayers & Scovill, the latest project is based on the XT6, an SUV, launched in 2019. But the XT6 Presidential Limousine is more than an extended XT6 with a roofline that extends further to the rear, like most of its brothers. No, the car has been extended, gets a third set of doors, but the real surprise is at the back. Because there is a sedan butt!
Yes, Sayers & Scovill turns the XT6 into a limousine according to the old school. According to its creators, the XT6 Presidential Limousine offers “[…] ultimate comfort and ultimate luxury “, combined with”[…] unsurpassed head and legroom for all passengers. “We take Sayers & Scovill at their word. Technical data of the special colossus is unknown.
The name ‘Presidential Limousine’ does not come out of the blue for this car. The real presidential limo, ‘The Beast’, is also a sedan that is modeled around the chassis of an SUV or pick-up truck. However, this ‘beast’ gets its own and therefore unique carriage, where the Sayers & Scovill limo is clearly based on the XT6.
Special combinations of sedans the land of crossovers come in all shapes and sizes. The Dacia / Renault Logan Sedan is available as Stepway, the Lada Vesta as Cross and there is this special Citroën C3L in China. Of course, the S60 Cross Country is also still engraved in our memory, although it is cars like the Aznom Palladium, the Atalux and concept cars like the Mercedes-Maybach Vision Ultimate Luxury that really look for the middle ground between SUVs and sedans.
