Did penguins ever fly? I’ve never seen them fly.

Answer
Penguins are indeed birds that cannot fly. By the way, they are not the only birds that do not possess this characteristic. Ostriches, for example, cannot fly. A chicken can “fly” a few meters far, but it mainly keeps on walking.
Another fact: some birds can swim and others cannot. A duck or goose does, a pheasant or turkey does not. Penguins can even dive and are good at swimming underwater.
In short: you don’t have to be able to fly to be a real bird.
