Can someone once and for all dispel the misconception about the connection between the moon and menstruation in women?

I’m trying to convince a friend of the folk superstitious origin of this connection but I can’t find any proof of my position anywhere!

thanks in advance

Answer

Best,

I don’t know what misconception you mean, but the word “month” is derived from the word “moon”. The moon’s orbital period normally lasts a month. The periods also come once a month. The periods are also called menses or menses, coming from the Latin “mensis”, which means month.

Kind regards,

Can someone once and for all dispel the misconception about the connection between the moon and menstruation in women?
