Cardo has announced a brand new generation of PACKTALK, the PACKTALK EDGE. The new series, which should be better on all fronts, is the result of extensive research, development and complete overhaul of the components of the PACKTALK series.
The small, sleek and antenna-free communication system has been completely redesigned and, according to Cardo, has a whole host of new features, without sacrificing all the user-favorite attributes of the previous generation.
In 2015, Cardo Systems launched the world’s first motorcycle communication device beyond Bluetooth with the introduction of Dynamic Mesh Communication (DMC), meaning the devices operated on a self-adapting network that not only automatically connected up to 15 motorcyclists, but also enabled them to seamlessly connect, depart and reconnect at a distance of up to eight kilometers.
The PACKTALK EDGE takes this technology one step further and offers a second-generation DMC connection with the benefits of unparalleled deep broadband quality, an easier and faster grouping process in DMC mode, faster pairing in Bluetooth mode, and Live Intercom Bluetooth support.
The PACKTALK EDGE has improved sound quality thanks to the redesigned JBL speakers and three new sound profiles. The communication system can be mounted on any helmet with a new magnetic holder for ease of use, is universally usable and has an improved noise-cancelling microphone.
It also includes the most advanced Bluetooth 5.2 chip on the market for universal connectivity. The improved Natural Voice Operation engine means all you have to say is “Hey, Cardo” and keep your hands on the wheel.
Other features include a 13 hour battery life, USB-C and fast charging as standard – a 20 minute charge gives you two hours of riding time and 1.5 – 2 hours charge provides a full charge with 13 hours of convenience.
Thanks to over-the-air software updates via the Cardo Connect App, no cables or Wi-Fi adapters are required to ensure that the PACKTALK EDGE communication system is equipped with the latest firmware.
