Skoda also presses the new Octavia RS into an English police suit. This continues a long tradition. The Octavia RS is no stranger to agents in the United Kingdom.
British agents have been able to count an RS version of the model in their fleet since the first generation Octavia. Both the hatchback and the station wagon are employed by the police force. The Octavia RS seems like a logical choice: it is spacious and offers enough power to quickly get from A to B without having to pay the main price. The new Octavia RS of the police has a 2.0 TSI with 245 hp and can thus sprint to 100 km / h in 6.7 seconds. Contrary to what the British government wants in the long term, the police do not opt for the plug-in hybrid Octavia iV RS, which also has 245 hp. Of course, the Police Skoda gets the typical pattern of fluorescent yellow and blue blocks from the British police. Of course there is a light bar on the roof and there are extra warning lights in both the front and rear bumper.
As with previous generations, the hermandad can order the Octavia RS as a hatchback or station wagon. Skoda does not adjust the engine power, but provides the Octavia with ANPR cameras for number plate recognition or a kennel if desired. The latter is of course useful for the police teams who work with detection dogs. Furthermore, the police RS is standard equipped with a virtual cockpit, a 10-inch touchscreen, LED headlights with matrix technology and, yes, seat heating. Whether the latter is a welcome addition in the heat of the chase, let’s say for a moment.
