CBR increases rates for 2021

The Centraal Bureau Rijvaardigheidsbewijzen (CBR) is raising the rates as of 2021. The main reason given is the increase in the costs for various services due to the corona crisis.

The CBR is forced to increase the current rates by ‘an average of 5.8 percent’. According to the authority, this is largely due to the fact that services must be set up differently due to the corona measures. “The corona pandemic causes additional costs to be able to safely continue services.” Yet that is not the only reason, because the CBR also sees its costs change due to other factors: “In addition, the costs for purchasing, social security and pensions are increasing and improvements are needed in IT and housing to maintain the quality of the service. . “

If we take a look at the most ‘popular’ services of the CBR, the price increase is immediately visible. For example, a theory exam for driving license A, AM or B currently costs € 34.50 and that will be € 37 next year. The increase in rates is also clearly visible in practical exams. A practical exam this year with a B and BE driving license still costs € 112.75, but next year it will be € 120. So it concerns a few euros to ten euros more per service.
