CEO DS: “Lancia must grow and rejuvenate”

The CEO of DS, Beatrice Foucher, spoke in an interview about the collaboration with the new sister brands Lancia and Alfa Romeo. Once again it appears that there is a future for both brands, if it is up to Stellantis.

It’s minimal straw, but we give Lancia enthusiasts every straw we can find. Since the merger of FCA (Fiat-Chrysler, including Lancia and Alfa Romeo) and PSA (Peugeot-Citroën, including Opel and DS), DS, Lancia and Alfa Romeo have formed the premium arm of the new Stellantis group. Since then it has been buzzing around a bit, especially the Italian brands, which were neglected somewhat (Alfa Romeo) to completely (Lancia) by their old ‘boss’.

In an interview with Automotive News Europe, Foucher confirms that there is a future for all three brands. DS continues on the path that has been started and will introduce two more new models for 2024, after we were recently presented with the DS 9 and DS 4. Alfa Romeo must, according to Foucher, come up with more models and firmly electrify.

Be what they once were

About Lancia, the DS boss says: “Lancia has a great history, but they only have one model today. That means they have to grow and rejuvenate to become what they once were.” That undoubtedly also means that the brand has to show itself outside Italy again, although there is no concrete talk about that yet. In any case, there is again a glimmer of hope for enthusiasts, although at the same time it is hoped that Stellantis does not go too far in merging the model lines of the three premium brands.
