Legs up
Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös is almost calling it a day. The German hands over the baton to the man who is still at the helm of BMW in the United Kingdom.
Torsten Müller-Ötvös was at the helm of Rolls-Royce for almost 14 years, but his service is almost over. The now 63-year-old CEO will retire on December 1. His departure is quite a moment for Rolls-Royce, because Müller-Ötvös was the longest-serving CEO of the British luxury brand since Claude Johnson, who brought together Charles Rolls and Henry Royce at the beginning of the last century and thus founded Rolls-Royce.
Not only that; Under Müller-Ötvös’ leadership, Rolls-Royce has reached unprecedented heights, expanding its model range and increasing sales sixfold. The Rolls-Royces Wraith, Dawn, Cullinan and the fully electric Specter were added during that time. When Müller-Ötvös took office, Rolls-Royce only sold the Phantom and the Ghost.
Now it is almost time to throw up our well-deserved legs and the British Chris Brownbridge can take over. Brownbridge is still the CEO of BMW UK. He has been with the BMW Group for almost 30 years and has been a board member of the British branch of BMW since 2011.
