The long-awaited new 675 SR-R was unveiled at the Zhenjiang International Circuit during CFMOTO Day. CFMOTO’s first three-cylinder, which looks identical to the 450 SR in terms of styling, has a peak power of 95 hp with a curb weight of 175 kg.

CFMOTO Unveils 675 SR-R: 95hp 175kg Supersport

It is an open secret that CFMOTO was working hard on a new three-cylinder. During the 2023 edition of CFMOTO Day, a prototype was already shown to the public at the Zhenjiang International Circuit, which got the rumour mill going at full speed.

In honor of the first CFMOTO victory in Moto3 at Le Mans, the CFMOTO ASPAR SPECIAL EDITION was then unveiled during the Catalan Grand Prix. The press release only highlighted the details of the paintwork and did not communicate a word about the type of motorcycle, but it soon became clear that it was the new three-cylinder.

The new 675 SR-R, as the name suggests, is powered by a new 675cc inline three-cylinder engine, which is quoted as having a peak power output of 95 hp at 10,250 rpm and a maximum torque of 70 Nm at 6,250 rpm. CFMOTO has deliberately kept the power output at 95 hp, or 70 kW, to make the bike accessible for the A2 driver’s license – just like Honda did with the CBR650, which can be seen as a competitor.

In terms of the chassis, the 675 SR-R is constructed from a lightweight chrome-molybdenum steel tubular frame with a bolt-on lightweight subframe and an aluminum swingarm that is banana-shaped on the exhaust side. CFMOTO has kept the wheelbase a delightfully short 1,400mm, which, combined with a steering angle of 23.7° and a trail of just 93.2mm, is sure to make it delightfully agile.

Especially when you also consider that it has a curb weight of 175 kilos. Absolutely not a bad value and makes us suspect that you will not notice that ‘only’ 95 hp on a winding road. CFMOTO claims that it has the maneuverability of a 250cc motorcycle. The weight distribution is 50-50%.

What else do we know? An adjustable upside-down fork is fitted at the front, while the rear wheel is suspended by an equally adjustable centrally mounted rear shock with progressive linkage. In terms of styling, CFMOTO has fitted the 675 SR-R with large winglets à la the previous generation Fireblade, which generate the necessary downforce and provide extra stability, especially when braking.

The brakes come from the Spanish J.Juan, with a radial 4-piston caliper at the front. The airducts that are provided to cool the brakes are eye-catching. That may seem excessive, but with the extreme temperatures here in China we understand that.

The 675 SR-R comes standard with High-performance SCT tires that were specially developed for the bike and according to CFMOTO are 8% lighter, should offer 12% more grip and also be 10% more durable. The tires have a sporty tread that is semi-slick on the ground contact area and full-slick on the sides.
