With a chakra meditation you can open and balance the seven main chakras. According to the chakra teaching, you restore the natural energy flow in the body and compensate for disturbed energy centers.
In Chakra teaching, the chakras are understood as subtle energy centers in and outside the physical body. The chakras are supposed to absorb the energy from the outside and distribute and transform the life energy, the prana. According to the traditional texts, there are thousands of such energy centers in the body, from which the main chakras lie along the spine. In Buddhism, four main chakras are usually assumed. In the west you are known to Hinduism, it is known to be seven main chakras.
Disharmonies and blockades in the chakras should disturb the free energy flow, which leads to emotional and mental problems, and ultimately even causing physical pain and diseases. In order to prevent or existing inequalities, targeted chakra meditations are recommended.
Chakra meditation: Open the 7 main chakras and balancing

Since the energy system is considered to be as complex as the physical human body, there are also many different meditations and paths to work with chakras and open them. For example, every chakra are attributed to topics and qualities as well as certain colors, bodily senses, elements and fragrances.
In addition to meditations, comprehensive energy work with the chakras also includes mental self-reflection, mindfulness, affirmations, yoga poses and a balanced diet.
We present you a general chakra meditation for beginners: inside and advanced, with which you can activate and open all seven main chakras. The meditation takes about ten to 30 minutes and you can do it every day.
1. First go into a pleasant seating position with upright posture. It is particularly important for chakra meditation that the spine is currently erected. You can sit on a folded blanket or a meditation pillow. The room around you should be as free of disturbing elements as possible such as noisy noises or objects lying around.
2. Close your eyes and direct your attention into your body. Perceive how you sit on the floor and lift and lower your chest and abdominal wall while breathing. Stay on your body for a few moments in this general mindfulness.
3. Detect your breath and your attention to the dam area, where the root chakra sits. As you exhale, you let go of all the tensions in this area. Visualize a red light in the pelvic floor that spreads with everyone. Take your connection to the earth that gives you stability and security. Listen to the root chakra until the deep red light shines evenly and you feel safe and safe.
4. Bring your attention to the sacral chakra, which is about a hand’s breadth under the navel. You can put a hand on this area while deliberately steering the energy into this energy center with every breath. Imagine an orange, warming light that spreads with everyone. When exhaling, you let the light radiate in your body and beyond. Lay here until you feel sensual and full of warmth.
5. Now steer your attention up to the solar plexus chakra, about a hand’s width above the navel. Breathe naturally and relaxed and focus entirely on your solar plexus. Imagine a yellow light that turns and grows more intensely with every inhaling, while it continues to spread out when exhaling, flows through energy and gives you strength. Lay here until you feel confident, powerful and energetic.
6. Bring all your attention to the middle of the chest, where the heart chakra is located. Again, you can put a hand on this area. Take your heart and watch your feelings and emotions. Make sure your chest is open by deliberately pulling your shoulders backwards. Breathe and evenly breathe, while visualizing a green light in this chakra. With each inhalation, the light becomes more intense and with each exhalation it spreads until it floods your chest completely. Stay with heart chakra until you feel full of trust, compassion and confidence.
7. Detect your attention to the Haltshakra, which is located in the area of the larynx. Take notice how your breath flows through your neck. Visualize a blue light center that you take into account. Imagine how this center opens up like a funnel when exhaling and exudes its energy. If there are fears or other unpleasant sensations in you, try to observe and accept them neutrally. Let the blue light radiate until it lights up stable and evenly. If you feel connected to you inner and appreciate yourself for your unique being, you can continue to the next chakra.
8. Dear your attention to the area between the eyebrows, where the forehead chakra is also known as the “third eye”. Breathe and evenly breathe, while you let go of all tension in the area of the forehead and feel completely free and open here. Imagine a violet light that begins as a small point between the eyebrows and slowly spreads over the forehead area when inhaling. Take the cooling energy of the light true and stay with your attention with this chakra until you feel mentally clear and present.
9. Bring your attention to the apex of your head, the highest point of the body. Here is the crown chakra that connects you to the energy of the universe. Spread the energy specifically to this energy center, where you visualize a bright, clear light. Imagine how this light spreads upwards while you feel both easily and clearly and prudently. Perceive peace and calm that bring this informal energy to you.
10. Perceive your entire body as a pure energy, while you continue to breathe calmly and evenly. Finally, you can go through all chakras again from the bottom up and combine them energetically. Imagine all seven energy centers with the connected lights that flood your entire body.
11. Feel a few more moments to minutes before you end the chakra meditation and slowly open your eyes. Let yourself be part of your attention in the energetic body, even while you get up again and go your way.
Targeted chakra meditation on individual chakras

If you have the feeling of perceiving blocking and inequalities in a certain chakra, you can also work with the respective energy center. To do this, you can carry out the respective step of the above instructions as a single chakra meditation. In addition, you can also work with the chakra on other levels.
Our overview of the seven chakras gives you a deep understanding of the individual chakras and helps you to work specifically with them. In addition to the respective properties and elements of the chakras, you will also find methods with which you can specifically strengthen and open them. So you can not only work with the respective color, but also with yoga poses, essential oils, diets, pranayama exercises and everyday methods.
Example: If you have problems in open communication and fear of rejection, according to the Chakra teaching, this can indicate a blocked hawkra. At the physical level, this could express itself with hoarseness, sore throat, dental problems and tension. Then you can use peppermint oil or eucalyptus oil in the fragrance lamp during the targeted meditation to this chakra (see point 7). In addition, reversal postures such as the headstand and back bends as well as a diet with plenty of fresh fruit should help. In everyday life you can surround yourself with blue colors, for example by looking at the sky or wearing blue clothes. Singing, writing and music are also recommended for this chakra.
In this way, you should specifically compensate for certain blockages and difficulties in the energetic body and find an even flow of energy in the body, which, according to the chakra teaching, ultimately leads to a harmonious and happy life and can eliminate diseases and emotional problems.
This is what science says to chakren

The existence of chakras in the spiritual sense is not scientifically proven. However, some scientists represent: Inside the thesis that the positions of the chakras match certain points in the central nervous system and therefore could be something on the spiritual assumptions and theories about chakras. Because, according to spiritual teachings, the main chakras are along the spine as well as important points in the central nervous system. All nerves of the body run together in the spinal cord and are connected to our brain. Certain parallels can also be found in the chakras teaching:
For example, the root chakra is associated with the same properties as the so -called Plexus Hypogastricus inferior. This is a nerve mesh in the lower abdomen in which the nerve fibers of the small pelvis converge and sends the signals to the genital organs and the rectum. According to the spiritual teachings, these two areas are influenced in a similar way, according to a study from 2017. Therefore, it is probably no coincidence that the theory of chakren teaching has developed as we know it today.
However, there are still many discussions and speculation in science. In order to be able to prove or refute the existence of chakras without any doubt, there are not enough scientific indications and studies.
Nevertheless, it is worth trying a chakra meditation. It offers you the opportunity to calm down, practice mindfulness and listen to you. So this can help increase your well -being.
