Change Android device wallpaper

Your tablet or smartphone with the Android operating system has a default background image for both the Home screen and the Lock screen. It is possible to change this background image. We explain how to do this on the tablet Samsung Galaxy Tab A with Android 7.0 and 8.0 and the smartphone Samsung Galaxy S with Android 7.0, 8.0 and 9.0.

• Open the overview with all apps by swiping from bottom to top on the screen.
• Tap on Institutions.
• Tap on Background.
• You can find possible background images under ‘My backgrounds’. In this tip, however, we’ll use our own photo. To do that, tap Gallery.
• Tap the desired photo and tap Finished.
• You can choose whether to customize the wallpaper of the Home screen, the Lock screen, or both. Tap the desired option.
• Tap on Set as Home screen / Lock screen / On Home and lock screen.

These steps have been tested on a Samsung Galaxy S10.

• Open the overview with all apps by swiping from bottom to top on the screen. On Android 7.0, tap apps.
• Tap on Gallery.
• Navigate to the image you want to set as wallpaper.
• Tap the three dots icon.
• Tap on Set as wallpaper.
• You can choose whether to customize the wallpaper of the Home screen, the Lock screen, or both. Tap the desired option.
• Tap on Set as Wallpaper.

These steps are based on a Samsung Galaxy S6 and S7.

• Tap on apps.
• Tap on Institutions.
• Tap on Background.
• Choose one of the wallpapers by tapping on it. In this tip, however, we’ll use our own photo. To do that, tap From Gallery.
• With Android 8.0: First navigate to the correct image. Then choose whether you want to customize the wallpaper of the Home screen, the Lock screen, or both. Tap the desired option.
• With Android 7.0: First choose whether you want to customize the Home screen, Lock screen or both. Then navigate to the correct image.
• Tap on Set as wallpaper.

These steps have been tested on a Samsung Galaxy Tab A.
