Charge your car within minutes: will that be possible soon?

In June, British technology company Nyobolt, in collaboration with design house Callum, will present a concept car containing a battery that can be fully charged within a few minutes. According to the company, this is technology that can be applied by the car industry in the short term and removes all concerns about the EV transition.

Charging, the availability of raw materials and battery degradation: these three things are mentioned by the British Nyobolt as the pain points regarding the electric driving transition that, according to the company, will be a thing of the past in the near future. The company developed – and patented – a technology that makes it possible to build batteries that can charge quickly and do not ‘wear out’ quickly. Batteries that are also constructed from readily available raw materials. Nyobolt will unveil its new technology next month, implemented in a concept car designed by design house Callum.

If Nyobolt can deliver on the great promises of its technology, the automotive industry can quickly count on the improvements. According to the British, the technology they have developed can be applied on a large scale in the short term, even by manufacturers who are still working with other technologies. How exactly their invention works, they leave it in the middle for now, but we will undoubtedly learn more about that next month. In any case, Nyobolt shows that charging electric cars using the technology is now just as easy as filling up a car with a combustion engine. It uses ‘new materials’ for its batteries, but these are not specified yet either. As soon as more is known, you can read it here.

Nyobolt is not the only company that states that being able to charge an electric car within minutes will soon be a reality.
