Charging an electric car at Tesla’s Superchargers is now cheaper

Non-Tesla charging slightly cheaper

Anyone who has an electric car from a brand other than Tesla can now charge more cheaply at the fast chargers of Tesla’s Supercharger network. At least, if you go for one of the renewed memberships.

Tesla owners can fast charge at a relatively favorable rate at the fast chargers of Tesla’s extensive Supercharger network. Those Superchargers are not only accessible to Tesla owners. You can also use electric cars from other manufacturers, although you will pay higher charging rates. Anyone who wants to benefit from the lower charging rates with a non-Tesla could already take out a Supercharger membership with Tesla. That membership is now cheaper.

Until recently, as a non-Tesla driver you paid €12.99 per month to benefit from the cheaper fast charging rates. That membership rate has now been reduced to €9.99 per month. Striking at a time when energy prices are increasing. That’s not the only news. Tesla is also introducing the option to immediately take out a membership for a full year. That costs €100 per year, which amounts to about €8.33 per month. The option to charge your non-Tesla at the Superchargers without membership – at higher charging rates – remains available.

Tesla’s Supercharger network currently has more than 14,000 Superchargers in Europe, spread over more than 1,100 Supercharger stations in 30 countries. More than 70 percent of them are currently open to non-Teslas. The Supercharger network continues to grow steadily and the number of stations where you can go with a non-Tesla electric car will also continue to increase, according to Tesla.
