Giant eight-seater

You probably know the London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC) as the manufacturer of the TX, which somewhat resembles the London taxis of days gone by, but LEVC wants to offer more than just TXs. It also comes with an electric MPV.
LEVC is one of the many brands that the Chinese colossus Geely has in its brand barrel, where it is in the company of Volvo, Lotus, Lynk & Co and Zeekr, among others. At the beginning of this year, LEVC announced that it wanted to transform itself from a relatively small manufacturer into a real electric volume brand. LEVC is said to have a broad model portfolio on its wish list, with several models that will feature the somewhat unfortunately named Space Oriented Architecture (SOA) platform. The company is of course developing this SOA basis together with parent company Geely. AutoWeek can now show you the first electric passenger car from LEVC. And it’s a big one.
LEVC
Meet the LEVC XSpace, one hell of an electric MPV. Electric MPVs are not unique among Geely brands. For example, Zeekr has the 009 and Volvo has the EM90 based on it. The Volvo EM90 is 5.2 meters long, but the LEVC XSpace goes even further. The colossus extends over a distance of – hold on – 5.32 meters and has a wheelbase of 3.19 meters. It is therefore 12 centimeters longer than a Volvo EM90, but has a slightly shorter wheelbase.
The MPV – whose snout reminds us somewhat of that of the Hyundai Staria – weighs at least 2,805 kilos and is available on the Chinese market as a six- and eight-seater. The eight-seater has no fewer than four rows of seats, each with two seats. From the information that we obtained from the database of the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, as well as the photos, we already know that the LEVC XSpace has the 272 hp electric motor on the rear axle, known from various Geely products. The size of the battery pack is not yet known. It is not inconceivable that the XSpace will receive the 116 kWh package that also supplies the electric motors in the Volvo EM90 and Zeekr 009.
Would you like to see this LEVC XSpace on the market in the Netherlands? Why or why not? Let us know in the comments.
