Small innovation for small city EV

Citroën has presented a new version of the cuddly and miniscule Ami. The Citroën Ami Pop is the sportiest version of the electric city car, complete with a real rear spoiler!
With the Ami, Citroën has a compact four-wheeled piece of urban mobility on its menu. It is of course not a full-fledged car, but the Ami does have four wheels, a roof and even a fairly full-fledged dashboard. However, the Citroën Ami is officially not available in the Netherlands and Germany. Stellantis has devised the Opel Rocks Electric especially for the Netherlands and our eastern neighbors. Fiat will also soon have a variant of the small city EV with the Topolino, although it will have its own completely unique carriage. Back to the Citroën Ami, because there is also something to say about the original.
Citroën Ami My Ami Pop: with rear spoiler!
The Ami is available in quite a few flavors in its home country of France, among others. Citroën offers the Ami as an absolute basic version My Ami Ami, but also as a more cheerfully decorated and more generously designed My Ami Orange, My Ami Grey, My Ami Pop and My Ami Tonic. It is even available as a delivery version My Ami Cargo, as a rugged My Ami Buggy and as My Ami For All for people with a physical disability. In this article we briefly focus on the My Ami Pop. The My Ami Pop is the version that Citroën marketed as the sportiest variant. That Pop version has now been updated.
The updated My Ami Pop version again offers a choice of four different types of wheels and has a black ‘mask’ around its LED daytime running lights in its face. The My Ami Pop also has a different rear bumper that should look slightly sportier than the standard model. Also present: cheerful stickers on the doors, sills and B-pillars. The sticker work is no longer orange but ‘infrared-red’. The number 2 on the flanks is, according to Citroën, the Ami’s favorite number. The explanation: it seats two passengers, has two identical doors and two identical bumpers… But there’s more. The ‘sporty top version’ gets black trim parts around the headlights and black inserts in the bumpers. The most striking Pop element remains: the Citroën My Ami Pop has… a rear spoiler!
Citroën Ami: with new center console.
Just like with the Ami Buggy, the push buttons for selecting the direction of travel are now located in the center console instead of on the floor to the left of the driver’s seat. Useful! In the center console you will also find a USB connection and the buttons to switch the climate control and the hazard lights on and off. This updated center console will also come to the other versions of the Ami in the first quarter of next year and therefore probably also to the Opel brother delivered here.
The Citroën Ami My Ami Pop also has a 5.4 kWh battery and a modest 8.2 hp electric motor. The city EV should be able to drive 75 kilometers in the city. The Ami has a top speed of 45 km/h and reaches it in exactly 10 seconds.
