The Citroën C3 Aircross has been facelifted. The compact crossover gets more than just a bolder front in its cropping session. The revised Aircross will be at dealers from June.
Just one year after Citroën brought the current C3 on the market, the brand expanded its range with the C3 Aircross. You should consider that model as Citroëns compact crossover that tries to sink its teeth into competitors such as the Renault Captur and Opel Crossland. The C3 went under the knife last year and so it is not surprising that a year later this facelifted C3 Aircross appears on the scene.
Design
The changes Citroën is making on the C3 Aircross go a bit further than the reforms that the C3 underwent on the cutting table. There are of course some similarities. Just like the facelifted C3, the youngest C3 Aircross gets a front where the chrome strips from the Citroën logo branch sideways. The lower strip then runs diagonally towards the actual headlight units, which, as before, are placed one floor below the now mildly modified LED daytime running lights. Where those headlights on the C3 were only subtly redesigned, they are now virtually unrecognizable on the C3 Aircross. The previously relatively square units are being replaced by flatter, now purely horizontally oriented housings. Good news: finally the headlights and rear lights are also equipped with LED technology.

The grille and front bumper will also be overhauled. The top, largest grille of the original makes way for two air vents, the top one of which is placed directly under the Citroën emblem and optically blends into the headlights. Underneath a piece of body-colored plastic is the second grille that is split by a beam that houses the number plate. Citroën puts an end to the latest design elements that refer to the Airbumps of yesteryear, and that means that the three round openings at the bottom of the nose end in the trash can. There is a more angular silver part in its place. At the very corners are now small fog lights. Previously, the fog wicks were incorporated in the headlight units themselves. There are no further changes to the back.
Interior
The dashboard remains virtually unchanged. The big news is in the infotainment system. This not only has a changed layout, but is now also linked to a 9 instead of 7-inch touchscreen. The touch-sensitive shortcuts that were previously around the screen have had to leave the field. The C3 Aircross is introduced for the first time in its history with buttery soft Advanced Comfort seats, which we know from the C5 Aircross and the new C4. Citroen also gives the C3 Aircross another storage compartment that is located between the front seats. The rear seat, which can be moved in two parts over a distance of 15 centimeters, of course remains intact.
Personalize
However, there is more to personalize. Citroën supplies three new paint colors, bringing the total number of available colors to seven. In addition, there are four color packages that add colorful accents to the skid plates, the side mirror caps and the C-pillar, among other things. The French also supply the C3 Aircross with a white or black roof. No facelift without the arrival of new wheels and so Citroën mounts fresh 16- and 17-inch light-alloy copies under the compact crossover. New color themes have also been devised for the interior. For example, gray fabric is available, but also a theme that combines, for example, blue fabric finish with cheerful chevronmotifs. The interior can also be decorated with gray-green leather and black fabric.
The revised Citroën C3 Aircross will be at dealers from June. Customers can choose from four power sources. There are two petrol engines, the 110 hp and 130 hp PureTech three-cylinder. The 110 hp version can only be ordered with a manual six-speed gearbox, the 130 hp version is only available with a six-speed automatic transmission. The entry-level diesel is the 110 hp BlueHdi with manual gearbox. Prefer diesel with an automatic transmission? This is possible with the BlueHDi with EAT6 transmission. Prices will follow in the run-up to the market launch.
