Third type of drivetrain
The Citroën C4 and C4 A third type of drivetrain has now been added. From now on, the C4 duo is also available with mild-hybrid petrol engines. AutoWeek can report this after examining the price lists.
If you come across a new drivetrain for one model from one of the Stellantis brands, you can blindly assume that not much later, stacks of other models from the group will have access to the same hardware. Stellantis has recently been busy rolling out its 156 hp electric powertrain with a 51 kWh battery across its electric models and now seems to have fully focused on making its mild-hybrid petrol engines more widely available. They were given the updated 208 and 2008, the Opel Corsa has mild-hybrid power and even the Jeep Avenger, which was initially only released as an EV, is available with a mild-hybrid 1.2. The Citroën C4 and its idiosyncratic alternative, called C4 X, are now also available with mild-hybrid petrol engines.
The mild-hybrid 1.2s produce 136 hp and 230 Nm. The 100 hp mild-hybrid 1.2 is not yet available for the pair. The 136 hp version does not push the 130 hp and 230 Nm strong 1.2s without mild-hybrid support out of the price list of the C4. Those non-electrified versions are available with a six-speed manual transmission. The mild-hybrid variants have a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, which houses a 28 hp and 55 Nm electric motor. The non-mild hybrid 130 hp 1.2 will disappear from the Citroën C4
