After Peugeot, Citroën has now also announced more about its new fully electric bus: the ë-Jumper. Its arrival was announced long ago, but only now is Citroën providing the world with detailed information.
It is no longer a big first, because it will not surprise anyone that the Citroën ë-Jumper uses exactly the same technology as the Peugeot e-Boxer. This means that the electric version of the Jumper will have a 96 kW (120 hp) electric motor. The torque is 260 Nm. This ë-Jumper is therefore not a speed demon, because it cannot go faster than 110 km / h.
The ë-Jumper is available in five versions with lengths ranging from 4.93 to 6.36 meters and with two different battery packs. A 37 kWh battery pack is available for the smallest versions, the L1 and L2. This takes the French bus 200 km (WLTP) far. A larger bus automatically means a larger package at Citroën. The L2S, L3 and L4 will receive a 70 kWh battery pack. This increases the range to 340 km. The ë-Jumper can charge up to 50 kW on a fast charger. After an hour at the plug, the bus can be on the road again with a battery that is charged to 80 percent. The bus can charge up to 22 kW at a public charging station.
Up to 1,265 kg (L3H2) of items can be stowed in the rear of the ë-Jumper. Citroën does not say what that does to the range. It is not yet known when the ë-Jumper will come to the Netherlands. Prices will follow at a later date.
