The term ‘compact car’ is the Sunday name for a city car. A small car with which you can easily move yourself in the bustle of the city. These cars are often placed in private lease constructions, but are also unabatedly popular as business lease cars.
Of the current top 10 most registered cars from the compact segment, these have been delivered to business drivers at least 848 times in six months, with an outlier of 2,943 registrations. This outlier is the Volkswagen Polo, which has been popular for years.
Old acquaintances
It is striking that in the parking garage of the current top 10, a number of places have been occupied for a few years by models such as the Volkswagen Polo (1) , Kia Picanto (2) and Toyota Yaris (4). These cars are known for their reliability, economical driving behavior and value for money. This compact class owes its popularity mainly to the lower purchase price. This also makes the monthly lease amount attractive. But that’s not the only advantage.
Low addition
The low purchase price also leads to a low addition. After all, that addition is partly dependent on the tax value of the car. The Peugeot 108 (6) has the lowest addition of the top 10 at €81.
Easy parking
In contrast to an SUV, for example, you need less parking space with a compact car, so that one tight parking space in the city will fit. That saves another 10 minutes extra to get to your business appointment. The parking spaces in parking garages are also spacious enough so that you do not have to park mirror to mirror.
More technical gadgets
We also see that compact cars have more and more technical gadgets on board. These vehicles can already have things like a digital dashboard, (adaptive) cruise control and an extensive multimedia system. Cars such as the Renault Clio (8), Ford Fiesta (9) and Peugeot 208 (5) can even park for you automatically.
Enough space for marketplace
Although compact cars appear small on the outside, they are often surprisingly spacious on the inside. The Volkswagen Up! (10) is a good example of this. With the rear seats folded away, you can simply take that box that you found on Marktplaats with you.
