Easily manage your ebook collection with Adobe Digital Editions. This program also works with ebooks protected with DRM (copy protection). Books from The Library, among other things, are protected with this.
Adobe Digital Editions for the computer
- Click on the blue button above To download.
- The Adobe website opens.
- Click on the blue link behind ‘Download Digital Edition’ 4.5.11 Windows. This number may be different if a newer version of the program is available.
- The installation file is downloaded.
- In Edge, click at the bottom of the screen To carry out to start the installation.
- In Chrome, the download is at the bottom of the browser window. Click on the file ADE_4.5_Installer.exe when the download is complete.
- In Firefox, a window first appears. Clicks Save file. The arrow to the right of the address bar turns blue, click on it. You then click on the file ADE_4.5_Installer.exe.
- If you get a security notification from Windows, click Yes.
Install Adobe Digital Editions
The installation wizard opens.
- Put a check in I accept the agreement.
- click on Next one.
- The installation wizard displays a list of shortcuts it wants to create on the PC. Uncheck the shortcut you don’t want by clicking the checkmarks.
- click on Next one.
- click on to install.
- If you get a notification about ‘Take advantage of Norton for free’, click No thanks.
- If it says ‘Completed’ above the loading bar, you can click To block click.
The program is now installed and will open automatically.
First use
After installation, Adobe Digital Editions starts automatically for the first time. There is already one item in the bookcase. That is the manual of the program. Double click on the cover to read the manual.
Adobe Digital Editions on tablet and smartphone
For mobile devices, there is an app from Adobe Digital Editions. It only allows you to read books, not manage them.
