Confirmed: removable battery for Samsung Galaxy XCover 6 Pro

The Samsung Galaxy XCover 6 Pro, an upcoming rugged smartphone, will work with a removable battery. This is evident from a manual for the phones that has already been leaked. It also reveals more details about the phone.

Samsung Galaxy XCover 6 Pro

Samsung has plans to re-equip the XCover 6 Pro with a battery that can be removed from the housing. The brand thus remains faithful to the designs of its previous rugged devices: the XCover 5 and the XCover Pro. Samsung itself leaked the information after a manual of the XCover 6 Pro online before the device was announced.

It has already been leaked about the phone that it works with the Snapdragon 778G chipset, which is the processor we know from the Realme GT Master Edition and the Samsung Galaxy A52s. In addition, we see in the manual that the device has a 3.5 mm audio jack, a fingerprint scanner on the side and a microSD slot. In addition to the main camera, there will also be a wide-angle lens on the back, so the manual confirms what we have seen in leaked renders. The phone also comes with the Single recording function, a video stabilization function and support for Samsung DeX.

Removable battery popular

The Samsung Galaxy XCover 6 Pro will probably be the most powerful phone that works with a removable battery. The question is whether Samsung can appeal to a wider target group with the phone than just the users who buy it for its rugged housing. A recent AW Poll shows that no less than 80 percent of our readers are enthusiastic about interchangeable batteries. And yet these phones have become a rarity for several reasons.

We will know everything about the Samsung Galaxy XCover 6 series on July 13, because then the devices will be announced. They appear together with a rugged tablet: the Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro. Little is known about that product, other than that it appears with a stylus. Would you consider this rugged phone because it has a removable battery? Let us know in the comments.
