General practitioners in private practice have been allowed to administer corona vaccinations since April. We explain to you how you can get a vaccination appointment with solidarity, without overloading the resources of the practice.
Family doctors have been administering vaccinations against the coronavirus nationwide since the beginning of April. As before, there is still too little vaccine available, so that not everyone who is interested can also be vaccinated. To make matters worse, there is no central invitation from general practitioners, so that each patient has to arrange an appointment himself. Nevertheless, there are ways in which you can come to a vaccination appointment and not unnecessarily strain the resources of the family doctor: inside.

Tip 1: Get active the next time you visit a doctor
The most important piece of advice is to take action. Often the family doctors do not even know that you want or urgently need a vaccination. At your appointment, ask if there is a waiting list for corona vaccinations. 3. Tip: Remember the vaccination sequence
At the moment there is a fixed prioritization in Germany when it comes to vaccination groups. According to the Robert Koch Institute The “particularly vulnerable” groups have priority, i.e. all people with previous illnesses as well as those over 70 and 80 years of age who have an increased risk of getting seriously ill with the coronavirus and the lung disease Covid-19. People who have a particularly high occupational risk of contracting the virus, or people in need of protection such as children or people in need of care, should also be given preference. This group of people includes, for example, educators, teachers or police officers as well as employees from the public service.
tip: If you belong to the so-called prioritization group 2 or 3, you have the right to receive a vaccination appointment as soon as possible. If this is the case, you can already ask your general practitioner about a vaccination appointment for the coronavirus. As a pregnant woman, you are not allowed to be vaccinated, but you can apply for the vaccination for two close contacts.
Incidentally, from June 7th, vaccination will be prioritized nationwide canceled, in some federal states this is already the case. However, that does not mean that you will get an appointment the next day immediately.
4. Tip: Use immediately available vaccine

Not every vaccine is available from general practitioners.
