Could it be that the Big Bang took place in an already existing space?

The Big Bang would have created space and time.

Could it be that the explosion of the primordial quanta took place in an already existing space?

Answer

Yes, if you mean ‘from’ an existing ‘space’. That big bang then generates a new universe, with a new time and a new space.

But actually your question is tautological. Something by definition ‘takes place’ within a ‘space’.

Could it be that the Big Bang took place in an already existing space?
