Create PayPal account

PayPal is an international service that makes it possible to transfer money. You pay via PayPal to anyone who also uses the payment service. That can be an acquaintance of yours, but also a company. You only need to know the recipient’s email address, or use the PayPal option during the checkout process in an online store.

iDEAL is not a payment option outside the Netherlands. PayPal does. Handy, because you can also shop internationally without a credit card. PayPal is also active in the Netherlands. BCC, De Bijenkorf, Blokker, Hema, Mediamarkt and Praxis, among others, accept PayPal for online purchases.

• Go to Paypal.com
• click on Register for free.
• We create a private account. This type is selected.
• click on Get on.
• PayPal wants your mobile number. This is an extra security.
• Enter your mobile number and click Next one.
• A six-digit code is immediately sent by SMS to the specified number.
• Enter it: after ten minutes the code is invalid. If you do not receive an SMS, click on ‘send code again’.
• Click in the ‘Email Address’ field and enter the email address you want to use PayPal with.
• Click in the ‘First name’ field and type your first name.
• Click in the ‘Last name’ field and type your last name.
• Think of a unique and strong password of at least 8 characters. This must consist of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, at least 1 number and at least 1 special character (such as !@#*).
• Click in the ‘Create password’ field and type the chosen password.
• click on Next one.
• Fill in the requested information.
• There is a checkmark in front of the option to receive offers and promotions from PayPal. If you don’t want that, click the check mark to disable the option. .
• Place a checkmark in front of I confirm that I have read and agree to the PayPal User Agreement and Privacy Statement and that I am of legal age.
• click on Agree and open account.
• Close the PayPal page now.
• PayPal will send a confirmation email. Make sure you receive it. It can sometimes take a few minutes. You must confirm your own e-mail address via this message. Otherwise, your PayPal account is not active.
• You will receive an email with sender service@paypal.nl.
• The subject reads ‘Confirm your email address’.
• Click the blue button in the email Confirm my email address.
• A page opens in the browser. You will see your entered email address.
• Enter your password.
• click on Confirm my email address.
