Cut the Rope Magic
A new part of the successful game series Cut the Rope has appeared in the App Store. Cut the Rope Magic is all about the magical power that allows Om Nom to transform into other creatures. This gives a whole new twist to the familiar game mechanics of cutting ropes to grab candies.
The foundation is still standing: in each level you can collect all the stars and the little monster Om Nom eventually has to eat the big candy. You do this by cutting ropes, but also by being smart with the level in other ways. In Cut the Rope Magic, a transformational power is added, giving Om Nom five new guises.
The first magical transformation is a little yellow bird. In this form, Om Nom can float a bit above the ground and thus catch candies higher. It can even fly with a little wind. In other levels, Om Nom can shrink into a tiny creature that’s more eye than monster, or he can swim underwater like a fish. In the levels you can only perform a transformation once, so if you do it wrong you have to try again.
The Cut the Rope series just keeps expanding. It started with a simple puzzle game that quickly became successful. Subsequently, numerous sequels have appeared, including Cut the Rope: Experiments, Cut the Rope: Time Travel and of course Cut the Rope 2. Has the concept not been milked too much by now?
Cut the Rope Magic proves not. Due to the transformations of Om Nom and the extra interactive elements in the levels, the makers manage to put down a pile of interesting puzzles again. There are over a hundred new levels in total to play. Enough to get your brain working.
