Czinger 21C ready for complete madness

Czinger has been working on his first car, the 21C, for a while. Now the development phase has been completed and the company knows exactly what the 21C can do. The numbers are downright shocking.

The American Czinger has only been around for two years and last year showed the 21C as its firstborn. A car that was already very promising on paper. Czinger has an interesting drivetrain in the super-smooth hypercar. A biturbo V8 with a capacity of only 2.88 liters, which roars up to 11,000 rpm, powers the rear wheels and is supported by two electric motors that drive the front wheels. The electricity comes from an MGU that is linked to the V8 and regenerative braking also generates the necessary power. The whole is good for no less than 1,250 American horsepower (1,267 hp). When you consider that the 21C only weighs 1,240 pounds, you know that it must guarantee insane performance.

That’s right, because the production version of the 21C with even more exuberant spoiler work is bloody fast. From 0 to 100 km/h it takes 1.9 seconds, from 0 to 300 km/h takes 13.8 seconds and in just 21.3 seconds you can even accelerate from 0 to 400 km/h. If you keep the accelerator pressed against the ground afterwards, the 21C continues to accelerate until 452 km / h on the counter. He is not the fastest road-legal car in the world, but the 21C is in an extremely select group.

The creators of the 21C state that the extra aerodynamic additions compared to the prototype significantly increase the maximum downforce. Now people talk about 615 kilos of downward pressure at 160 km/h and no less than 2,500 kilos at 320 km/h. The 21C will undoubtedly eat up tires, but you get a lot of grip in return. Earlier, Czinger indicated that it will only build 80 21Cs. Part of that is the version we see here, but there is also a lighter version specially intended for track use. It also sacrifices some top speed for downforce.
