Dacia teases new Sandero (Stepway) and Logan

Dacia will be pulling the curtain on completely new generations of both the Sandero and Logan this year. Today the Romanian manufacturer shows a first set of teasers of its new sober models.

It has been about 15 years ago that Dacia the first generation Logan was registered in our country, an event in which Techzle itself drove a copy from the Romanian factory to the Netherlands. Logan, who was later joined by the Sandero, has since been helped to a second generation years ago, a generation that is due for replacement in 2020. Dacia sends a teaser video into the world through its Romanian social channels, showing something of the new Sandero, Sandero Stepway and the new Logan Sedan.

The teaser video shows the silhouette of both the Sandero and that of its more roughly dressed Sandero Stepway brother. Dacia also shows a shadow of the Logan Sedan, the variant of the Logan not available in the Netherlands. In our country, Dacia does deliver the Logan MCV. The fact that Dacia does not show that station version may mean that that practical station version has been deleted. Should that be the case, the success of the Duster has undoubtedly played a role.

Interesting is the shadow that Dacia shows of the Sandero Stepway. That is the only newcomer of the bunch that becomes more visible thanks to the lighting up of the image. The new Sandero Stepway gets a relatively aggressive front with a grille that blends seemingly seamlessly with the flatter and wider headlights. The silver-colored skid plate also reveals that this is the Stepway version. Count on a similar nose for the regular Sandero and Logan, but one with a different bumper.

Packed new Dacia Sandero

The time has passed when Dacia’s have to make do with old Renault engines. The current models are already available with the modern TCe’s from the French parent company. In addition to petrol versions, you can also count on versions that like LPG, as a completely new Bifuel machine was recently presented that is also available in various models of the brand. It is not yet known exactly when Dacia will present the new models, but that will be a matter of weeks rather than months.

Dacia Netherlands

Since the reintroduction of Dacia in the Netherlands, the brand has enticed about 52,500 compatriots to purchase one of the Romanian models. The Logan has proven to be the most popular model with a total of more than 20,000 units sold, followed by the Sandero and Duster, where more than 17,000 and almost 11,000 units were sold respectively. The ultimate prize pack is perhaps the Lodgy, the MPV available with both five and seven seats, which is by far the cheapest ballroom on wheels on the Dutch market. Only nearly 3,000 copies have been sold since 2012. De Dokker has sold up to 1,000 copies to date.
