Electric delivery

Daihatsu is lord and master of the small town rascals. The brand sells a colorful collection of tiny passenger cars and a range of compact crossovers, hatchbacks and MPVs worldwide. Small commercial vehicles have also been part of the Daihatsu family for decades. With a new study model, the brand looks ahead to a small electric van that can sometimes provide large sales numbers.
Daihatsu is no longer active in Europe, but of course still sells tens of thousands of cars annually in its home country of Japan. Or rather: cars. After all, the majority of the Daihatsu’s that leave the showrooms are small Kei cars. Of course, the brand has more in its portfolio. Especially outside the Japanese borders. Daihatsu, for example, is a major player in Indonesia. So big, in fact, that the local Astra Daihatsu branch develops models especially for the Indonesian market. The Indonesia Auto Show (Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show, GIIAS) is taking place in Indonesia this weekend and Astra Daihatsu is doing quite well.
The brand reports thirteen cars on the exhibition floor to the attention, but they are by no means all new. What is brand new is this Vizion-F, a study model with which Daihatsu sends a clear signal. It intends to bring a small electric utility vehicle to the Indonesian car market and the Vizion-F clearly shows what you can expect from it.
Daihatsu Gran Max.
Anyone who has kept an eye on Daihatsu’s international model range in recent years may be familiar with the Daihatsu Gran Max. The Gran Max is a compact commercial vehicle that is available as a passenger van, van and as a pick-up. It is a size larger than the Hijet and is therefore not a Kei-car. The Gran Max has been running since 2007, but has still served as the basis for the Vizion-F. The basic shape of the Gran Max is therefore clearly reflected in it. Daihatsu is not yet sharing technical specifications.
