Deleting restore points in Windows

delete restore point x250 Restore points are useful if you are going to make changes to your computer. Delete old restore points to free up space on the computer.

A restore point is a record of what programs and settings are on the computer at any given time. Are you not happy with the change? Then return the computer to the time you created the restore point. We call that System Restore. If someone regularly creates a restore point, the PC’s disk will become full. Then delete the restore points using Disk Cleanup. All restore points (except the last one) are removed from the computer.

  • Click the magnifying glass icon in the taskbar.
  • Type the text ‘Disk Cleanup’.
  • click on Disk Cleanup.
  • Optionally, select the drive you want to clean up and click OK.
  • click on Clean up system files.
  • Enter your password if necessary.
  • Select the drive you want to clean again and click OK.
  • Click on the tab More options.
  • Under ‘System Restore and Shadow Copies’, click To clean up.
  • click on remove when prompted for confirmation.
  • click on OK > Delete files.
