Humans absorb many environmental toxins through food, cosmetics or medication. But it is not easy to detoxify the body – even if many manufacturers promise exactly that. As always, prevention is better than aftercare.
Everything looks very simple in advertising: it seems as if the body can be detoxified by adding as many fruit juices, teas and nutritional supplements as possible. So-called Detoxification or detox cures have become a huge market for many manufacturers. However, the fact that these products can discharge environmental toxins from the body is more than questionable: the liver, kidneys and intestines do this task naturally.
Detoxify the body: Prevention is better than aftercare
There are a few rules that you can easily integrate into everyday life to absorb fewer environmental toxins from the outset:
- nutrition: Do you still eat those sugary chocolate flakes for breakfast? And what snacks do you have on your plate? Keep a food diary for a few days and mark all the foods you eat even though they are not good for you. Then think about the delicious and healthy alternatives.
- Move: You haven’t been jogging in the last four weeks? Now would be a good time to start. Think about which sports you used to do – you can start from there. Or grab a friend and do something active together, like one bicycle tour,
- sleep: Have you slept enough lately. If not, you can prescribe fixed bed times. Experts recommend around eight hours of sleep. We share tips with which you fall asleep faster can.
- order: Tidy up your room and clean it up. In the end, not only your four windows are clear again, but your head too. How about “Less is more“?
