Deus Automobiles, a startup electric hypercar maker, shares two teaser images of its first car: the Vayanne electric hypercar. A first glimpse of that car mainly confirms what we already knew. The official unveiling will follow on April 13.

The Deus Vayanne is still largely shrouded in darkness in the photos, with an orange glow revealing some of the contours of the car. This shows that Deus remains faithful to the patent plates that AutoWeek was already able to excavate last autumn. Then we thought the car was going to be called Vayenne, but the final name differs by one letter. The Vayanne is a smooth-lined hypercar that eventually has to compete with a car like the Rimac Nevera. Deus does not yet disclose the technical specifications, but it is reported that he will receive a 1,500 hp electric powertrain, with which the Vayanne should be able to push through to a top speed of 400 km/h. In addition, the Vayanne must be able to travel 450 kilometers on a single battery charge.

Those numbers certainly sound promising. Deus Automobiles is working with design agency ItalDesign and Williams Advanced Engineering to realize the Vayanne. Deus Automobiles is the brand of the Romanian car designer Adrian-Filip Butuca, whose company, at least on paper, is based in Switzerland. On April 13, Deus will pull the curtain on the Vayanne at the New York International Auto Show. Whether the hypercar will appear on the road after that and the promised specifications will become reality, remains to be seen. The aforementioned Rimac is to date the only manufacturer that has developed a driving and production-ready fully electric hypercar.
